This new Danish straight-line-tracking integrated turntable/tonearm mightily impressed PS with its rock‑solid stability and reliability, with performance as good as anything he has used: superlative tracking, especially on inner grooves, spectacularly precise imaging, and extremely wide and deep soundstaging. Its tonal balance (with an Ortofon Windfeld) is neutral except for a slight frisson of brilliance that is never edgy or grainy. Biggest surprise: truly superb isolation despite the fixed‑plinth design. An authentic triumph of design, engineering, and execution.

"Bergmann Sindre Turntable
So how does it sound? In a word, superlative. Outfitted with an Ortofon Windfeld, my reference this year or so, the Sindre sailed with ease over just about every stretch of round black sea I launched it upon..."

"The thing with air-bearing arms – and especially on air-bearing decks – is they are usually a frustrating glimpse at the best vinyl can do. Frustrating because for every record played, you spend twice as much time tinkering with the thing to make it play again. Not so the Bergmann. It just kept on playing. No fuss, no bother, no panic. And no distortion. How cool is that?"

"Whatever I threw from this record, the turntable managed to slap me with its analysis, perfect articulation and rythmic accuracy, until... I was knocked out (in the possitive sense). It is true that is flirting, if not touching the reference level."

"I need to mention one more aspect of the Bergmann`s sound that makes it different from any other turntable- presentation of the space. Sindre`s placement of the instruments on the stage in the space is just... perfect - you couldn't wish for more."

"Excellent optical design, harmonious concept, brilliantly implemented: From now on, Denmark has something to say when it comes to high-class turntables."

"The Bergmann Sindre is a work of art not only in appearance but in its engineering as well. The 'less is more' design seems to have paid off in terms of performance, setup and reliability."
"Its quitness sets new standards in terms of noise not only from the pump but in the air escaping from the table and arm."
"One of the biggest drawbacks of the linear tracking arms and airbearing technology in general is its fussiness and high maintenance, often requiring tweaks and adjustments. During my time with the Sindre, it performed flawlessly with no further adjustments necessary, a tribute to Bergmann`s 'keep it simple' philosophy."
"We think Johnnie Bergmann has something special, something like finding the mythical Hammer of Thor."
